EPILOGUE: Grit, Motivation, Resilience

Featured image from an entry in my final portfolio! For someone who wants to work in fashion media, I did not include any cover design. So here it is! My concept was "a fashion magazine cover that is unusual, unlike what we have seen in the mainstream."
4 terms pass by so quickly. I felt like it is just yesterday that I was briefed to create this blog, and here I am writing the last post to be included in the submission.
No, this is not the end. I will be migrating some of the posts here into a Wordpress blog I'm building at the moment. My lecturer told me (for the second time) that I should pursue blogging seriously. I really should start this blogging thing for good.
It has been quite a ride. A fun one. If I am to be honest, I feel like I have achieved 85% of my goals for this year. It certainly is wasn't a boring 2017. So many emotions, experiences, and lessons.
As I compile every single blog post I've done, I am actually sort of amazed with what I did. Some highlights:
The portfolio I developed fits the objectives I set earlier this year.
My knowledge on arts on my Affordable Art Fair post, from Picasso to ukiyo.
As time goes by, I referenced less pictures because I published my own.
I did a pure opinion piece on education because of Global Experience class.
I read a lot and I hyperlink a lot. No wonder some call me 'walking Google'.
I am able to switch from serious to aloof in terms of writing style.
There is a definite development in terms of visuals and writing.
I showed a good example of critical thinking through the posts I made.
An inherent theme of 'Asia Rising' throughout the posts.
There is definitely a grand story brewing as I update the blog week by week. However, it needs a conclusion. Here is the last set of self-reflection before graduation.
GRIT + MOTIVATION + RESILIENCE.
I read up a Forbes article on 'Futureproof Traits'. It mentions grit (passion & perseverance), motivation (initiative & driven), and resilience (adapting to difficulties).
Couldn't have said it better myself. That is, ladies and gentlemen, this module in 3 words.
KEEP UP OR PERISH.
Times are ever a-changing and we have to adapt to survive. Keep up with the latest trends, or make one.
FIGHT.
That was the word my grandpa told me before I went here for degree. Concise and strong. I have no room for giving-ups, complaints, and negativity. Just do what you do, pour your heart into it, and try until you reach what you want.
HELLO, MISS UNCONFIDENT.
You're still kind of here I guess. It's a process. I'd say my confidence went from Level 5 to Level 20 (Pardon my gaming terms) this year. Still much work to do, but I promise I would grind up that character trait to a higher level.
ROME WASN'T BUILT ALONE.
Neither was Chanel, Zara, Asos, Urban Decay, or any brands out there. Even though I'm naturally someone who likes working alone, I can definitely say that I would have to include other people if I do want to make an impact in this world.
NEVER STOP LEARNING.
I am aware that this is my last undergraduate project, but this is not where my learning journey shall stop. It will always be an ever-continuing segment in the show called life.
All of these are lessons that I will carry all the way, as I enter the industry, and for the rest of my life.
